Disney is recruiting for a sound assistant to join the backstage team on The Lion King UK Tour. It could be you!

The sound assistant plays a key role in supporting the sound department in the smooth and efficient running of the sound department.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth running of rehearsals and performances, ensuring the company are suitability supported by the sound department back and front of house
• Responsible for maintaining, and repairing aspects of the sound system, including radio frequencies, microphones, the orchestra pit, and comms
• Working with the sound department, resolve issues as they arise
• In capacity as a sound operator, responsible for replicating the show's sound design. Operator’s mix will be reviewed by the head of sound to maintain the high standards required of the production
• Support sound department with show moves to ensure the production moves seamlessly from one venue to another
• Comply and follow current health and safety policies, referring to risk assessments, safe systems of work and industry guidance where appropriate
• Weekend and evening work integral (Tuesday to Sunday show schedule)

Knowledge, skills, experience

• The ideal candidate will have experience of working on a large scale musical production
• Clear, confident communication and decision making essential
• Ability to remain focused and calm when under pressure
• Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills with cast, creative and production team essential
• Highly motivated and organised individual who is a team player
