As an individual giving manager, you will also be reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of membership and wider areas of giving.
The Individual Giving Manager works within the Development Department which fundraises for The Old Vic Theatre Company and The Old Vic Theatre Trust, which is a registered charity. Responsibilities
Individual Giving
<ul>
<li>To assist in the development of a yearly strategic plan for individual giving at The Old Vic, to include year-on-year giving (Membership), small and mid-size donations across channels, including online, and community or challenge led fundraising.</li>
<li>To assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together. </li>
<li>To retain and increase support by overseeing the delivery of an excellent programme of customer care, include the delivery of a range of benefits, priority booking and events.</li>

Across the team, our aim is to raise voluntary funds for the theatre from individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations. The Old Vic is one of the only theatres in London with such scale, scope and international reputation to operate as a registered charity, receiving no regular public subsidy. The Development Team currently raises around £3.5 million each year in revenue fundraising.
Looking ahead, as well as continuing our re-opening campaign, we have a bold and ambitious £14.9m capital campaign to create a vibrant, creative hub to house and expand the reach of our education and social mobility programmes. Account Management &amp; New Business
<ul>
<li>To act as account manager on a portfolio of agreed relationships; to provide, track and administrate all the agreed services and benefits to these clients and deliver outstanding stewardship to secure renewal.</li>
<li>To effectively identify new prospects for corporate partnerships, present a well-researched and strategic commercial offer and support the team in securing new business income, researching and pipeline development.</li>
<li>Undertake research to identify corporate prospects and provide profiles and briefing notes to Co-Director of Development and the Head of Corporate Development from which the team can implement approaches.</li>
<li>Identify and deliver mid and long-term partnership plans for our supporters to retain our them over multiple years. You will also look to identify and deliver opportunities for income growth for supporters across other areas of corporate partnerships (sponsorship, ESG, training).</li>
<li>To support effective new business approaches through networking at events, meetings, phone calls, pitches and presentations to secure support.</li>
<li>To ensure you are adequately skilled up and informed across all fundraising sectors and opportunities to contribute to overarching departmental aims and financial targets.</li>

Research, Database &amp; Communications
<ul>
<li>To undertake research on both current and prospective Corporate Sponsors/Members, writing new prospect profiles and together with the Corporate Development Team, retain and increase support and generate and convert new prospects.</li>
<li>Carry out research including benchmarking of corporate giving within other venues, and keep up–to-date research on The Old Vic Corporate Supporters’ giving elsewhere.</li>
<li>To manage all corporate ticket requests on Tessitura, including; holds, bookings, and processing of payments.</li>
<li>Log and keep up to date, all supporter and prospect details and contacts on The Old Vic’s database, Tessitura.</li>
<li>To lead on the drafting of communications going out to Corporate supporters including event invitations, season announcements, priority booking periods, approaches, and any other communications needed.</li>
<li>To assist in drafting and editing of corporate information on our website and ensuring that supporters are credited in line with the agreed policy and their level of contribution.</li>

Internal and External Events

<li>To liaise with the Head of Events and clients to deliver all client and internal events for the Corporate Team at the highest standard.</li>

<li>To oversee all catering arrangements, ticketing, seating plans, space availability checks, sourcing of training materials for all Corporate Member/Sponsor/Training events.</li>

Assisting the Head of Corporate Development

<li>To work closely with the Head of Corporate Development to support them in all aspects of implementation of the Corporate Development Strategy and diversifying of income streams for The Old Vic.</li>

The aim is to break down barriers and myths and showcase the rich mix of roles and opportunities on offer within publishing.
Successful applicants will be mentored by individuals who have at least two years of experience in the industry, from across the different teams at Penguin Random House, including editorial, design, production, technology, sales, marketing, publicity, distribution and HR. The senior leadership team will also be mentoring. There are 90 places available on this year’s programme which is open for applications from today until July 11th.

<h3>How does the programme work?</h3>
Through the programme, Creative Access will find and match 90 people with mentors from across these <a href="https://www.penguin.co.uk/company/work-with-us/careers/work-in-publishing.html" target="_blank">different teams at Penguin Random House</a>. Where possible, mentees will be matched with a mentor working in the area in which they would like to work or progress their career in.
It will focus on individuals over the age of 18 from under-represented communities looking to pursue or progress with their careers in publishing. This could apply to students at college or university or those who have some professional experience (in publishing or wider industries). Also welcomed are applications from those not currently in education, employment or training.
The mentoring partnerships will run from September 2022 for six months, with an initial meet and greet session facilitated by Creative Access and monthly virtual meetings thereafter.

Pop Up Projects, a London-based national children’s literature development agency and Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, seeks a dynamic, enterprising and experienced project or programme manager to join our team.
This highly communicative, creative and entrepreneurial role will be pivotal in delivering our flagship non-profit creative and cultural skills programme, Pathways into Children’s Publishing, which over two years will train a next generation of illustrators from under-represented backgrounds to develop the skills and relationships needed to access careers in children’s publishing. They will also develop and manage Pathways Plus, a spin-off year-round programme of paid-for masterclasses, short courses and professional development events. 
The current pathways manager is departing in August 2022. We are therefore seeking someone with experience of course, programme and/or project management to finalise and manage delivery of the 2022-2024 Pathways Into Children’s Publishing course. They will also simultaneously manage the Pathways Plus programme, which consists of an average three days per month of paid-for classes and courses.
 
About Pathways
Pathways into Children’s Publishing is a two-year, non-academic, publishing industry-focused course for talented aspiring and emerging illustrators from backgrounds that are under-represented in children’s publishing. Following a successful pilot (2019-2011) the second and future iterations of the course are now in development, with the next course commencing December 2022. 
 
Knowledge, skills, experience
The right candidate will have:
<ul>
<li>Strong experience of developing, delivering and/or managing learning or training programmes or courses (in any context, but ideally within an arts including publishing, CC Skills or higher education context)</li>
<li>Outstanding relationship management skills (capable of working with 100+ learners and professionals and 25 stakeholder i.e. publishing and academic institutions) </li>
<li>A passion for equality and inclusion in children’s literature, advocating for and empowering artists of colour, disabled artists, neurodivergent artists, artists from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds, and LGBTQ+ artists</li>
<li>Above all, you must be hard working, exceptional at multitasking, and adept at line managing others to coordinate planning and logistics across the two programmes, which will be running concurrently from January 2023</li>
<li>An ability to build and maintain multiple types of stakeholder e.g. industry, academic and creative practitioner relationships</li>
<li>An appetite for trialling, learning from and improving new creative and cultural learning and training experiences</li>
<li>An enthusiasm for outreach and promotion, marketing and sales</li>

Responsibilities
Supported throughout by the pathways coordinator, the pathways manager will:
<ul>
<li>Manage and participate in the final stages of recruitment i.e. interviews and selections of and offers to Pathways Into Children’s Publishing 2022-2024 mentees</li>
<li>Trial and finalise (with an external design agency) and then curate content for our new LearnWorlds learning management platform, through which a majority of Pathways Into Children’s Publishing and Pathways Plus activities will be delivered</li>
<li>Work with the Executive &amp; Creative Director to put all the people in place to tutor and mentor on Pathways Into Children’s Publishing 2022-2024, commissioning and concluding planning and design of all masterclasses, short courses and professional development events</li>
<li>Manage relationships, contracts and logistics with multiple stakeholders, partners and professionals involved in funding, planning, delivering and hosting both Pathways Into Children’s Publishing and Pathways Plus programmes</li>
<li>Build strong supportive relationships with Pathways Into Children’s Publishing mentees, putting in place (supported by external agents) a framework to support their progression and wellbeing through the course, ensuring high retention rates</li>
<li>Pilot, develop, promote, facilitate, evaluate our first full-year Pathways Plus programme, working closely with the Marketing &amp; Comms Team on associated marketing and sales campaigns and tasks</li>
<li>Oversee regular internal comms e.g. via regular newsletters to participants and stakeholders (e.g. publisher and university affiliates) and maintain up-to-date content on our website, especially in the new ‘Showcase’ area which will profile past and present Pathways Into Children’s Publishing mentees</li>
<li>Contribute to the longer term vision and development of both Pathways Into Children’s Publishing and Pathways Plus</li>
</ul>
 
Terms of contract
The successful applicant will be offered a permanent full-time contract, subject to an initial probationary period of three months. Once in post, they will work with the Executive &amp; Creative Director and Finance &amp; Operations Manager to establish annual KPIs, which will form part of (thrice-yearly) appraisals. 
There will be required overtime, including some Saturdays, with time off in lieu (TOIL). Holiday entitlement will be 25 days per calendar year, plus bank holidays, as well as an average 10 working days off during closure of the Pop Up office over the Christmas and New Year period. 
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, with supporting documentation, and will be required to work in the London office two days per week.
