For more than half a millennium, King’s College Chapel has been home to one of the world’s most loved and renowned choirs. Since the foundation of the College in 1441 by the 19-year-old King Henry VI, choral services sung by the Choir of King’s College have been a fundamental part of life in the Chapel.  The consistently high standards achieved by the Choir over such a long course of time owe much to the six musicians who have been responsible for nurturing and stewarding the Choir over the course of the last 140 years: A.H. Mann (1876), Boris Ord (1929); David Willcocks (1957), Philip Ledger (1974), Stephen Cleobury (1982) and since 2019, Daniel Hyde.
With its deep roots in musical history, the Choir has always been at the forefront of technological innovation. The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, inaugurated at King’s in 1918, was first broadcast by the BBC in 1928, making it the longest-established annual broadcast in history; meanwhile, the televised Christmas service, Carols from King’s, will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2024. From the 1950s, the Choir recorded with major record labels including Argo, Decca, and EMI; in 2012 the College decided to launch its own Record Label to allow more artistic and commercial independence. The decade since its inception has been a challenging one for classical music in general, and choral music in particular, yet the Label has flourished by embracing the opportunities afforded by new digital platforms and as well as by producing traditional CDs.

Are you excited to manage the day-to-day running of an iconic London theatre's individual giving scheme? 
As an individual giving manager, you will also be reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of membership and wider areas of giving.
The Individual Giving Manager works within the Development Department which fundraises for The Old Vic Theatre Company and The Old Vic Theatre Trust, which is a registered charity. Its aim is to raise voluntary funds for the theatre from individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations. 
 
 
Responsibilities
Individual Giving
<ul>
<li>To assist in the development of a yearly strategic plan for individual giving at The Old Vic, to include year-on-year giving (Membership), small and mid-size donations across channels, including online, and community or challenge led fundraising.</li>
<li>To assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together. </li>
<li>To retain and increase support by overseeing the delivery of an excellent programme of customer care, include the delivery of a range of benefits, priority booking and events.</li>
<li>Together with the Head of Individual Giving retain and increase support and generate and convert new prospects, to meet agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1 million to contribute to the overall Development team target. </li>

<li>To work with the Head of Events to ensure a comprehensive Events strategy is delivered, in line with membership benefits, and to assist and attend events run by the Development Department to include individual events as required and corporate and sponsorship evenings as needed to support the wider team.</li>
<li>To oversee and draft communications going out to individual supporters including season announcements, updates and invitations and segmenting mailing lists when necessary.</li>
<li>To oversee ticket bookings and catering reservations for supporters, handing over processing to other members of the team as necessary, and to innovate time-saving new processes for automating bookings and reservations.</li>
<li>To line manage the Individual Giving Officer, monitoring key performance indicators and objectives to ensure that targets are met.</li>
<li>To lead on the implementation of all membership/individual philanthropy updates on the website, including the crediting of donors, and liaise with Marketing to ensure this is properly administered.</li>
<li>To innovate and implement new fundraising projects, such as Tap to Donate scheme, creating supporting documents (e.g. case for support and rebrand of membership scheme).</li>

American Associates of The Old Vic
<ul>
<li>To support the administration of the American Associates of The Old Vic membership and provide support to the Head of Individual Giving with the delivery of the scheme as necessary. </li>

Database, Finance and Gift Aid
<ul>
<li>To monitor weekly fundraising income and reporting progress to the Individuals team on a regular basis. Liaising with Finance and work to ensure management accounts reflect expected, received and forecasted income.</li>
<li>To oversee the use The Old Vic’s database, Tessitura, for recording donations, memberships, prospects and events and with support from the Individual Giving Officer, making sure that records are fully up-to-date.</li>
<li>To maintain and improve Tessitura functionality, training other members of the team as necessary.</li>
<li>To ensure that all data complies with procedures for data integrity (e.g. Gift Aid, GDPR and PCI compliance).</li>

Prospects and New Support
<ul>

<li>Together with the Head of Individual Giving and Head of Philanthropy develop new ways of giving e.g. Legacy Giving and contactless giving and take an active role in the roll-out, promotion, marketing and administration of these schemes.</li>

The Old Vic is one of the only theatres in London with such scale, scope and international reputation to operate as a registered charity, receiving no regular public subsidy. The Development Team currently raises around £3.5 million each year in revenue fundraising.
Looking ahead, as well as continuing our re-opening campaign, we have a bold and ambitious £14.9m capital campaign to create a vibrant, creative hub to house and expand the reach of our education and social mobility programmes. The purpose of this job is to offer administrative support on the day to day running of the Corporate Team, and to aid the Team in maintaining and enhancing member/sponsor relationships through outstanding customer service and stewardship. Stewardship

Research, Database &amp; Communications
<ul>
<li>To undertake research on both current and prospective Corporate Sponsors/Members, writing new prospect profiles and together with the Corporate Development Team, retain and increase support and generate and convert new prospects.</li>
<li>Carry out research including benchmarking of corporate giving within other venues, and keep up–to-date research on The Old Vic Corporate Supporters’ giving elsewhere.</li>
<li>To manage all corporate ticket requests on Tessitura, including; holds, bookings, and processing of payments.</li>
<li>Log and keep up to date, all supporter and prospect details and contacts on The Old Vic’s database, Tessitura.</li>
<li>To lead on the drafting of communications going out to Corporate supporters including event invitations, season announcements, priority booking periods, approaches, and any other communications needed.</li>
<li>To assist in drafting and editing of corporate information on our website and ensuring that supporters are credited in line with the agreed policy and their level of contribution.</li>
<li>Ensure that crediting of all corporate supporters are correct in Old Vic programmes, front of house panels and annual review.</li>
</ul>
Internal and External Events
<ul>
<li>To liaise with the Head of Events and clients to deliver all client and internal events for the Corporate Team at the highest standard.</li>
<li>To support the Head of Corporate Development in Corporate Training events through contracting and facilitator communications.</li>
<li>To oversee all catering arrangements, ticketing, seating plans, space availability checks, sourcing of training materials for all Corporate Member/Sponsor/Training events.</li>
<li>To oversee the compilation of invitation design and approval, including drafting invitation copy, compiling invite lists, and emailing of invitations.</li>
<li>To send all invites, manage and respond to RSVPs, sending joining instructions to appropriate guests in advance of each internal event and recording attendance on Tessitura.</li>
<li>To compile briefing notes for guests attending internal events.</li>
<li>To oversee the design and timely delivery of programme wraps for sponsor events, liaising with The Old Vic’s Design Team, external printers and the client.</li>
<li>To attend and assist at regular supporter events, taking an active role in event delivery and networking with guests, with additional hours as necessary.</li>
</ul>
Assisting the Head of Corporate Development
<ul>
<li>To work closely with the Head of Corporate Development to support them in all aspects of implementation of the Corporate Development Strategy and diversifying of income streams for The Old Vic.</li>
<li>To contribute to the compiling of projections, budgets and business plans in relation to the Corporate team.</li>
<li>To offer administrative support on the day to day running of the Corporate Team including some diary management, meeting set up, arranging couriers and taking minutes at meetings as required.</li>
<li>To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Corporate Development and Co-Directors of Development.</li>

Pop Up Projects is a non-profit social enterprise with a mission to transform lives through literature and publishing. Want to join them?
Pop Up Projects, a London-based national children’s literature development agency and Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, seeks a dynamic, enterprising and experienced project or programme manager to join our team.
This highly communicative, creative and entrepreneurial role will be pivotal in delivering our flagship non-profit creative and cultural skills programme, Pathways into Children’s Publishing, which over two years will train a next generation of illustrators from under-represented backgrounds to develop the skills and relationships needed to access careers in children’s publishing. They will also develop and manage Pathways Plus, a spin-off year-round programme of paid-for masterclasses, short courses and professional development events. 
The current pathways manager is departing in August 2022. We are therefore seeking someone with experience of course, programme and/or project management to finalise and manage delivery of the 2022-2024 Pathways Into Children’s Publishing course. They will also simultaneously manage the Pathways Plus programme, which consists of an average three days per month of paid-for classes and courses.
 
About Pathways
Pathways into Children’s Publishing is a two-year, non-academic, publishing industry-focused course for talented aspiring and emerging illustrators from backgrounds that are under-represented in children’s publishing. Following a successful pilot (2019-2011) the second and future iterations of the course are now in development, with the next course commencing December 2022. 
 
Knowledge, skills, experience
The right candidate will have:

<li>Strong experience of developing, delivering and/or managing learning or training programmes or courses (in any context, but ideally within an arts including publishing, CC Skills or higher education context)</li>
<li>Outstanding relationship management skills (capable of working with 100+ learners and professionals and 25 stakeholder i.e. publishing and academic institutions) </li>
<li>A passion for equality and inclusion in children’s literature, advocating for and empowering artists of colour, disabled artists, neurodivergent artists, artists from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds, and LGBTQ+ artists</li>
<li>Above all, you must be hard working, exceptional at multitasking, and adept at line managing others to coordinate planning and logistics across the two programmes, which will be running concurrently from January 2023</li>
<li>An ability to build and maintain multiple types of stakeholder e.g. industry, academic and creative practitioner relationships</li>

Responsibilities
Supported throughout by the pathways coordinator, the pathways manager will:

<li>Manage and participate in the final stages of recruitment i.e. interviews and selections of and offers to Pathways Into Children’s Publishing 2022-2024 mentees</li>
<li>Trial and finalise (with an external design agency) and then curate content for our new LearnWorlds learning management platform, through which a majority of Pathways Into Children’s Publishing and Pathways Plus activities will be delivered</li>
<li>Work with the Executive &amp; Creative Director to put all the people in place to tutor and mentor on Pathways Into Children’s Publishing 2022-2024, commissioning and concluding planning and design of all masterclasses, short courses and professional development events</li>
<li>Manage relationships, contracts and logistics with multiple stakeholders, partners and professionals involved in funding, planning, delivering and hosting both Pathways Into Children’s Publishing and Pathways Plus programmes</li>
<li>Build strong supportive relationships with Pathways Into Children’s Publishing mentees, putting in place (supported by external agents) a framework to support their progression and wellbeing through the course, ensuring high retention rates</li>
<li>Pilot, develop, promote, facilitate, evaluate our first full-year Pathways Plus programme, working closely with the Marketing &amp; Comms Team on associated marketing and sales campaigns and tasks</li>
<li>Oversee regular internal comms e.g. via regular newsletters to participants and stakeholders (e.g. publisher and university affiliates) and maintain up-to-date content on our website, especially in the new ‘Showcase’ area which will profile past and present Pathways Into Children’s Publishing mentees</li>
<li>Contribute to the longer term vision and development of both Pathways Into Children’s Publishing and Pathways Plus</li>
</ul>
 
Terms of contract
The successful applicant will be offered a permanent full-time contract, subject to an initial probationary period of three months. Once in post, they will work with the Executive &amp; Creative Director and Finance &amp; Operations Manager to establish annual KPIs, which will form part of (thrice-yearly) appraisals. 
There will be required overtime, including some Saturdays, with time off in lieu (TOIL). Holiday entitlement will be 25 days per calendar year, plus bank holidays, as well as an average 10 working days off during closure of the Pop Up office over the Christmas and New Year period. 
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, with supporting documentation, and will be required to work in the London office two days per week.
