Industry department assistant
Are you passionate about young people and bettering the prospects for storytellers in film/tv?
We need someone who works brilliantly with young people and alongside a professional team to ensure an exciting and creative environment.
We are looking to recruit a driven individual to assist the industry department at the London Screen Academy (LSA). This unique role requires someone who is a self starter and successful multitasker, they will be required to assist each member of the Industry team (Industry Partnerships Director, the Director of Careers and Alumni and the two Departmental Managers) whilst doing a range of administrative tasks and speaking with students.
This is a permanent full-time role.

Desirable
- Excellent computer skills, experience using Google Suite would be beneficial
- Media industry experience
- Experience of working with young people
The role will involve:
- Assisting the industry curriculum manager in the organisation and management of the weekly masterclasses, workshops and classroom drop-ins with professionals from the creative industries
- Liaising with industry professionals to ensure safeguarding and manage the logistical and technical needs prior to an event
- Assisting the industry progression manager with the LSA Mentoring and Work Placement Programmes, including liaison with industry professionals/ organisations and administrating the mentors’ DBS checks on behalf of LSA
- Helping to manage ‘Industry’ trips for students e.g. set visits, studio tours, visits to industry workplaces etc., organising risk assessments, managing completion of NDA’s, journey planning and obtaining parental consents
- Regular use of Zoom online meeting platform, Airtable, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs and Canva
- Assisting the LSA Industry staff in directly communicating the work of the department to the LSA community
- Regularly liaising with LSA marketing department to ensure effective communication of industry department ‘offer’ to current and future LSA students and their parents
- Maintaining industry department tracking systems to record student and Industry engagement with LSA activities
- Arranging potentially enriching cultural trips for students e.g. exhibitions and industry events, including journey planning and advance booking of tickets. Log for Industry budget
- Providing administrative support to the Industry team, including managing agenda for departmental meetings, distributing notes from meetings to all members of the team & diary management
- Generic research to support the work of the industry department
About the London Screen Academy (LSA)
LSA is a new sixth form academy for 16-19 year olds in London who have a passion for film and television and the stories they tell. Our current cohort is 640 students and 285 alumni.

LSA is unlike any other sixth form. Through its founders and the Industry team, we provide unprecedented access to the screen industries and to its workforces. LSA teaches behind the camera skills covering many screen disciplines. LSA’s founders are a group of internationally acclaimed British producers. They are practising industry leaders who work every day in all areas of the screen industries.
LSA provides an engaging and innovative curriculum of academic study and practical training. We develop students’ talents, skills and attitude preparing them for careers in the screen industries and higher education. Our students leave LSA as well-rounded, confident young adults.
Our teaching and curriculum is project-based and students explore all the key areas of the screen industries. Students also study English, Maths and a cultural enrichment programme so that they are fully equipped to find their way in the world.
We place a strong emphasis on the development of the whole person. Through our pastoral, tutorial and enrichment programmes, we equip our students with the life skills needed to progress in their professional and personal lives. Our students are known well by staff and challenged and supported to realise their potential. And crucially, within our newly refurbished stunning building, LSA is a safe, accepting, diverse and fun place to study.
