Interviews will be held at Mayflower Theatre and include a practical workshop and formal interview. Lead the charge in delivering enriching theatre projects to schools, supporting our mission of fostering creativity and learning.Mayflower Theatre is the largest theatre on the South Coast with 2,271 seats in the auditorium. The Theatre’s aim is to bring a diverse range of shows to Southampton. We present a mixture of spectacular touring productions, from musicals to dance, opera, drama, ballet and comedy. MAST Mayflower Studios is a cultural and community hub. We present family shows, dance, musicals, music, comedy, circus, cabaret, spoken word, and visual arts. We put participation at the heart of everything we do. Both the Theatre and Studios operate under the Mayflower brand. Collectively we provide Inspiring Experiences to all who engage with each venue. As Education Programme Coordinator, you will join a large participation team and coordinate a range of theatre engagement projects for schools at Mayflower Theatre &amp; MAST Mayflower Studios. You provide administrative, facilitation and project support to the participation department and particularly the Education Programme. Creative SchoolsOur Creative Schools programme engages primary, secondary, further education colleges and universities with our theatre programme. At least 60% of our work is delivered with the most disadvantaged schools in Southampton and surrounding areas. We will work in partnership with a range of companies and partners who visit our theatres. Access, a creative curriculum, and insight into industry careers is a key focus of our work. We also deliver subsidised ticket schemes and teacher professional development opportunities. Responsibilities<ul><li>Administer, coordinate and deliver school theatre projects and activities with Schools in Southampton, Hampshire and in the surrounding areas, and create accompanying resources where required.</li><li>Administer, coordinate and deliver public and school holiday workshop packages including supporting on our Holiday Activities &amp; Food programmes.</li><li>Administer and support the RSC Associate School Programme. </li><li>Support the wider Participation team by supporting on events that include but are not limited to Family Fun Day, Community Exhibition Takeover, Summer Youth Project (SYP) and Christmas Youth Production (CYP). </li><li>Maintain and uphold safeguarding policy and protocol</li><li>Manage sensitive data in line with GDPR guidelines</li><li>Lead backstage tours, including our interactive family and children tours.</li><li>Compile registers, ensuring all relevant booking/enrolment/information forms are completed.</li><li>Support on Participation events and projects such as signing in participants and preparing rooms, offering support to the workshop leaders as appropriate.</li><li>Attend, chaperone, and assist at workshops and events as necessary. </li><li>Support evaluation and reporting of Participation activities.</li><li>Liaise with marketing on all Participation activities, in particular social media and ticket requests.</li><li>Carry out any other ad hoc tasks, projects and additional activities that may be required.</li><li>Be a First Aider</li></ul> Knowledge, skills and experienceEssential<ul><li>Educated to a degree level in drama, performing arts or an arts-based subject or equivalent qualification</li><li>Experience of delivering drama/theatre workshops with children or young people</li><li>Has previous experience of administrating and co-ordinating arts-based projects</li><li>Has a good understanding of the school curriculum (primary &amp; drama in secondary)</li><li>Has excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure</li><li>Be a self-starter</li><li>Flexible approach</li><li>Be proficient in Microsoft packages inc.
