About us
Established in 1999, Scene & Heard is an award-winning children’s mentoring charity in Somers Town, Camden. Our mission is to empower young people from one of the UK’s most deprived neighbourhoods by unlocking their creativity, building confidence and nurturing aspiration.
At the heart of our work is a unique, long-term, mentoring playwriting programme, that partners children with volunteer arts professionals to create theatre.
Alongside this core programme, our Creative Outreach offers free access to the arts for any child in Somers Town including a weekly term-time drama and arts club and week-long summer schemes.
The charity operates with a staff of 4, various freelance specialists and a volunteer base of 400 arts professionals.
