About us

Storm Publishing is a new digital-first publisher founded by Oliver Rhodes – the founder and former CEO of Bookouture.

Storm is focused on commercial adult fiction and publishes globally in ebook, audio and print-on-demand paperbacks.

Founded with a team of five, Oliver Rhodes is Storm’s Managing Director and is joined by several former colleagues. Claire Bord will be Deputy Managing Director, Kathryn Taussig is Publisher, Chris Lucraft joins as Digital Operations Director, and Emily Gowers as Editorial Director.

Storm’s next step is to build out a diverse team with the best digital publishers in the industry – those with successful track records and the ability to think differently, to challenge convention. In return, the company offers the opportunity to be part of an energising, ambitious start-up that pushes the boundaries for publishing in innovation, technology, and company culture.

After working in traditional publishing for over ten years, Oliver Rhodes founded ground-breaking digital publisher Bookouture in 2012. One of the most successful publishing start-ups of the decade, Bookouture was acquired by Hachette in 2017 and has sold over 50 million copies. After becoming part of Hachette, Oliver continued as Bookouture CEO, became Digital Publishing Director of Hachette UK and serving on the company’s board for three years. Always looking ten years ahead, Oliver is fascinated by the potential of maximising human ingenuity and creativity with the support of technology. He couldn’t resist the chance to reimagine what publishing could look like in the years to come and with that, Storm Publishing was born.
