UK Screen Alliance

UK Screen Alliance in partnership with Animation UK is the trade association that represents Visual Effects (VFX), TV & Film Studios, Post Production, Production Services and Animation in the UK. It is the membership organisation for over 130 leading employers in this sector and its primary purpose is advocacy at national, regional and local level for its member companies. The sector we represent generates well in excess of £2billion in GVA for the UK economy each year.

The UK Screen Alliance was formed in 2016 when two long-established organisations, the UK Screen Association, (founded in 2004) and Animation UK (founded in 2008) joined together to pursue mutually agreed goals on behalf of their members. The UK Screen Association members came from a lateral layer of service providers to the film, TV and commercials sectors; whereas the Animation UK membership consisted of an industry vertical comprising independent entertainment companies specialising in production, distribution, development, financing and brand development of animated content. These two constituencies intersect across many common interests, particularly those of international trade, screen-sector tax incentives, public service broadcasting, visa policy and access to global talent, continuing professional development and the pipeline for home-grown talent from schools through colleges and universities into apprenticeships, jobs and rewarding careers.

Whilst Animation UK is administratively integrated into the UK Screen Alliance and we operate as a single organisation, our animation section continues to retain the strong brand identity of Animation UK.
