Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (2 days per week in the office minimum)
Contract: Full Time (35 hours per week) / Fixed Term (8 weeks)

What you'll be doing
As part of this role, you will:
- Enhance the accessibility of the current images and infographics that have been created by the Cambridge Mathematics team by writing and embedding both summary and detailed alternative text for them.
- Compare the effectiveness and appropriateness of AI-generated alternative text with human-generated alternative text and produce a report of your evaluation and findings.
- Produce a set of best practice guidelines for the creation of alternative text to inform the future work of the Cambridge Mathematics team.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, the following skills, values and behaviours are desirable:
- Good written English, preferably including some experience in writing alternative text.
- Knowledge of EDIB best practices, especially regarding the language adaptations required for creating alternative text, including compatibility with assistive technology such as screen readers.
- Familiarity with mathematical terminology and concepts and the ability to describe them clearly.
- A mathematics qualification, preferably to at least A Level or equivalent.
- Some familiarity with generative AI tools.
- Familiarity with MS Office 365, including Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn and use new software as required.
- The ability to develop good working relationships while also having the confidence and motivation to work independently.
