Dust off your design portfolio! This award-winning studio is on the lookout for a new assistant designer with a background in video design and/or animation to join their multidisciplinary team.

59 is a multi award-winning studio based in London and New York. We conceive, design and deliver ambitious, large-scale story-driven artwork, stage shows and immersive experiences for live audiences, grounded by a deeply interdisciplinary process involving architecture, animation, video, light, sound, music and technical design. We work in partnership with some of the world’s most prestigious and ambitious clients, and with best-in-class partners globally across industries to build and deliver our projects. Current commissions include artworks, placemaking installations, temporary and permanent buildings, stage shows, ceremonies and events.

We are looking for new Assistant Designers with a video design and/or animation background to join 59’s team. The role will work in our multidisciplinary Design Department to research, develop, refine and design responses to a broad slate of creative challenges across the company’s project portfolio.

59’s Design team is made up of video designers, animators, spatial designer, architects, lighting and technical designers. You will apply your specific design skills in one (or more) of these areas collaboratively, across a number of projects, to help realise our work. The person in this role will have a strong interest in design for storytelling and an enthusiasm to work across live events such as performance, exhibition and pavilion design. This role will suit someone early in their career designing for live performance or someone who has been working in another industry or context for some time and is looking to transfer their skills to 59’s work.
