Location: The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.

As Assistant Editor, The World Atlas of Wine 9th Edition, you will have a unique opportunity to help create the ninth edition of the world’s most famous wine reference book, assisting the Managing Editor with updating the text, maps, and photographs.
Responsibilities
The role reports to the Managing Editor for The World Atlas of Wine and the duties include:
- Taking in text corrections in the InDesign files
- Tracking text changes in the Word documents for co-edition partners
- Checking the maps at all stages, and locating and marking-up the locations of wineries and vineyards on pdfs of the maps
- Keeping the map and text tracker documents up-to-date
- Assisting with photo research and other research projects
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working with Excel and Word is essential
- Experience working with Indesign and Adobe Acrobat is strongly advantageous
- Some publishing experience is required, ideally in illustrated books
- Excellent attention to detail and strong editorial skills
- Knowledge of/interest in wine is helpful but not essential
- Good organisation and communication skills and the ability to use own initiative
