Location: The warehouse is located in Finsbury Park, you will be required to work from the warehouse 3 days a week.

Fane is a leader in the production and curation of spoken word events, bringing the most exciting names in culture and entertainment to audiences around the world. We programme over 500 live and online events each year. We also run LoveMyRead, the home of book gifting online.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Book Distribution Coordinator to work 24 hours per week, managing a wealth of stock in our ever-expanding distribution department. A huge part of what we do involves selling books, be that for partnerships, events, or our book subscription service LoveMyRead.

The ideal candidate is highly organised, communicative, methodical, and passionate about getting books into the hands of the reader. Publishing and event experience is not essential, and you will be part of a creative, friendly, motivated, and supportive team. Hours are worked across three days between Monday and Friday.  Working days are subject to change, and will be flexible, working on a monthly schedule that will be dependent on the Company’s needs. This role reports to the Book Operations Manager.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and control the warehouse activities to maximise support for the Fane Online events, book subscription services, Fane bookstore and merchandise partnerships 
  • Assist with curating books sold via all e-commerce platforms 
  • Regularly keeping stock takes 
  • Maintaining computerised administration and stock inventory 
  • Effectively liaise with our third-party delivery service to plan collections from the warehouse and ensure all deliveries arrive with customers in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team on all customer queries about shipping, resolving issues quickly 

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Experience of working in a warehouse environment, or similar 
  • Proof of Health and Safety or Warehouse safety training 
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a calm and efficient manner
  • Planning and organising skills, with the ability to implement change effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience of working with freelancers is a bonus but not essential
