C4 is owned by the public and fully funded by advertising, so maximising revenue which can be invested back on screen is paramount. Each year the 4Sales team generate over £1billion of advertising revenue, across spot, VoD, sponsorship and partnerships that is then used to produce the high quality, innovative and entertaining programming that our viewers love so much. A major part of our commercial strategy focuses on being the most progressive commercial partners with our advertisers and agencies.
The Commercial team is responsible for delivering the business strategy, defined by the Customer and Commercial Leader to deliver against our revenue, reputation, and relationship objectives across a defined patch of agencies. The Commercial Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and analytical support to the Commercial Development Leads and the Customer & Commercial Leader in their pursuit of share growth and revenue generation.
Responsibilities
- Providing weekly trading and market reports e.g., pricing and audience performance.
- Utilising analytical tools to help the Commercial Development Leads identify new revenue opportunities as well as opportunities for incremental growth.
- Assisting the Commercial Development Leads with the creation of linear and online agreements in order for the campaigns to be set up on our internal booking system.
- Generating deal letters under the guidance of the Commercial Development Leads, summarising the terms of deal contracts.
- Running day to day administrative systems and providing procedural support to the Commercial Development Leads and Customer & Commercial Leader.
- Supporting the Commercial Development Leads in the writing and formatting of PowerPoint presentations.
- Ensuring deal information is accurately input into the internal booking system in good time after a trading deal is finalised.
- Costing up individual airtime spot requests for agency and client partners.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential
- Candidate must be self-motivated and proactive.
- Must be able to juggle and prioritise tasks according to strict deadlines, therefore time management is important.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer proficiency including the use of Excel and PowerPoint.
- High level of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Candidate must have the ability to work independently and to carry out tasks to completion within parameters of instructions given.
- Highly organised.
- Concise and accurate communication style.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Media Sales, analytic or numerical role.
- Knowledge of the TV advertising industry and a basic knowledge of industry guidelines and regulations (OFCOM, BCAP, Clearcast).
Hybrid Working
From September 2023 employees will be working minimum 3 days per week in their office location. The other 2 days should be working from home. This is to create more time for collaboration, creativity, learning and feedback. We also have a working from another location policy for up to 10 days.
