
Comms and marketing coordinator

Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 FTE
Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible working available)
Location: Hybrid, to include two days per week in the office across two Creative Access sites in Camden and White City, London; and ad hoc early evening events.

Use your digital storytelling skills to create engaging content and support impactful campaigns that connect with under-represented voices across the creative industries.
The comms and marketing co-ordinator is a pivotal role at Creative Access, working across our activities and teams to promote our services and amplify our mission. Working with the comms and marketing manager, you’ll be supporting Creative Access to tell our story and connect with communities across the creative industries and beyond. You’ll assist with creating engaging content, coordinating campaigns, and helping us reach and inspire candidates, employer partners and wider stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity for someone with some previous professional experience in communications and marketing, who is keen to build their skills across content creation, digital marketing and external engagement, while making a real social impact in the creative sector.
Key responsibilities
Content development and delivery
- Create high quality engaging written, visual and video content for our communication channels (social media, website, newsletters, reports)
- Draft copy for social posts, blogs, and partner communications, ensuring all content reflects our mission, values and brand with a high standard of SEO
- Proactively identify culturally relevant trends and stories and create PR and social content for Creative Access associated with these
Campaigns and promotion
- Support the delivery of marketing, communications and research campaigns across platforms such as the Creative Access Development Bursary, The Mo Siewcharran Fund & Diary of a CA Intern
- Work regularly with the Access and Thrive teams to promote Creative Access programmes, events, and job opportunities
- Assist the comms & marketing manager in the design and delivery of annual research projects, such as the Thrive survey
- Contribute ideas for new ways to engage our audiences and showcase our services and impact
Online presence
- Regularly schedule and post on our social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook & X)
- Monitor social channels, engaging with comments and messages to grow our online communities
- Help maintain and update the Creative Access website
PR and media relations
- Assist the comms & marketing manager with the management of press campaigns for key announcements, such as new partnerships and research findings - from writing press releases, to producing media lists and pitching to journalists
- Help monitor opportunities for Creative Access to feature in relevant media, podcasts, panels and awards
Data, monitoring and reporting
- Track analytics and performance of social and digital campaigns and present monthly wash-ups with the comms & marketing manager
- Support the team with compiling information for funder reports and impact stories
Inclusive comms
- Ensure content of all our communications is accurate, accessible, inclusive and represents the organisation’s personality, mission and values
- Be a brand guardian: update our style guide regularly; seek out ways to continually deliver best practice in inclusive language/comms; ensure brand message is strong and consistent across all channels and marketing activity
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a marketing, communications or digital content delivery role
- Confident using social media platforms and aware of the latest trends
- Understanding of best practice in marketing, PR and communications and tuned in to trends and new developments
- Really interested in what’s happening in the world; abreast of what people are talking about and/or sharing on social media and in traditional media
- High level of attention to detail and presentation, copywriting and proofreading
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and independently
- Culturally-aware and demonstrates a genuine interest in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)
- Proficient use of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva and Mailchimp
Desirable
- Understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues in the creative sector and wider society.
- Experience delivering inclusive comms
- Interest in creative industries and career pathways
- Knowledge of analytics, Google Ads or scheduling tools like Hootsuite
- Experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems
- Experience using CapCut, and other creative/content making tools
