Responsibilities

As construction manager, you’ll take the creative vision and bring it to life - literally. Leading our construction team, you’ll transform design concepts into the physical sets that shape storytelling on Coronation Street. You’ll manage logistics, resources, safety, and people - ensuring every build is delivered with precision and care.

This is a leadership role; balancing hands-on construction know-how with project planning, team development, and long-term maintenance. From full-scale lot builds to last-minute studio changeovers, no two days are the same.


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • You will have proven experience of working in a construction workshop on a drama based production with an excellent demonstrable knowledge of the set building process
  • You will have experience of working in the building trade with an excellent understanding of the building process
  • You will have experience of working in a supervisory or managerial role in the construction of sets or building environments with a proven ability to lead a team (please provide evidence of managing people and workflow)
  • You will have knowledge of a range of building practices including scaffold rigs and related safety considerations
  • You can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including a proven ability to take a variety of approaches when dealing with issues and problems
  • This role involves driving daily to various sites and locations to collect and deliver equipment therefore a full, manual UK driving licence is essential
  • You are flexible and able to take calls outside of working hours and work occasional extra days/hours, depending on production needs.
  • You have knowledge of Health & Safety principles, and how these apply in a workshop and on-set environment (eg risk assessments, safe working practices, COSHH)
  • You have excellent organisational and time management skills
  • You’re confident in communicating with others and can demonstrate good negotiating skills
  • You stay calm and focused under pressure and during stressful situations
  • You have a flexible and creative approach to problem solving
  • You have a proactive approach to personal development
  • You are able to prioritise and juggle workloads, possessing initiative to adapt to changing priorities
