Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

About the role

Multi award-winning drama series about the staff and patients at the Holby City Emergency Department, charting the ups and downs in their personal and professional lives whilst tackling many controversial and taboo issues. Through great writing and visual flair, the show balances gritty realism with high drama to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, week in week out.

Reporting to the Series Costume Designer, the role of the Costume Runner is key to assisting every member of the team, from the regular artists costumes and their crossovers between episodes, to assisting the Costume Coordinators to enable the smooth running of the department.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Your duties will range from assisting with the daily requests, to include lining up, dressing and documenting the supporting artists on the Episodes, to maintaining the truck kit, main artist and stockroom and ensure the department is always fully supplied and organised for production.  
  • There is also a requirement to assist with upkeeping our costumes, to include the repairs, dry cleaning, washing, embroidering, ironing, and labelling. 
  • Standardly the runner is attached to a filming episode giving opportunities work in both studio and location environments and with a variety of teams.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Experience within a Costume Department, from TV, Theatre or Film
  • Excellent knowledge of IT equipment and software
  • A good understanding of the principles, practices and roles for costume within television and film production
  • An ability to do alterations and have good sewing skills 
  • An understanding and ability to work efficiently to production continuity 
  • Knowledge and passion for Drama, especially Casualty
