DCMS Creative Careers Campaign: callout for contributors
Are you under 30 and building your career in the creative industries in the North East or North West? Share your story and take part in a paid case study.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is working with marketing agency 23red and industry partners Creative UK and ScreenSkills to deliver a pilot creative careers communications campaign running alongside the Discover! Creative Careers month this autumn. Aimed at 13-18 year olds and their parents, the campaign aims to inspire young people from a diverse range of backgrounds to consider a career in the creative industries.
We are now seeking recommendations of early/mid-career creatives working in these industries:
- Music
- Video Games
- Marketing and Advertising
- Film and TV
- Visual and Performing Arts
If you are a creative professional or freelancers who would be willing to provide a case study sharing their experience of working in these sectors, we want to hear from you.
There is a day rate of £300 for contributors, covering all planning and filming costs.
Who we're looking for
We’re seeking young people who can share their real journey into the creative industries. You don’t need a traditional academic background; we especially want to hear from those with different routes in.
Case studies will mainly take the form of short videos and social content, though some contributors may also feature in press, campaign launches, or other media. You should feel comfortable speaking about your career journey and having your photo taken.
Selected participants will be paid £300 per day. Key contributors may be asked to dedicate up to three days.
Quick eligibility checklist
- Aged under 30
- Based in, grew up in, or work in Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, or the North East
- Already in one of the following sectors: music, video games, film/TV, visual/performing arts, or marketing/advertising
- Comfortable sharing your career story on camera or in interview
