Salary: £35,000 to 43,000 per annum, depending on experience

Contract: This is a full-time, permanent position, based in our London office.

 

We are looking for a talented editor to join our department and support commissioning editors across non-fiction, music & pop culture.

Faber is a leading independent literary publisher, committed to the work of the most dynamic and significant voices. The current list spans Nobel laureates, bestselling fiction, award-winning non-fiction, poetry, film, classical music and a leading drama list. We publish a diverse range of high-profile non-fiction authors including Richard Ayoade, Dr Gwen Adshead, Kate Bush, Aniefiok Ekpoudom, Marina Hyde, Katherine May, Helen Rebanks, Katherine Rundell, Jon Savage, Anil Seth, James Shapiro, Jenny Uglow and Gary Younge.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for structural and line editing specified typescripts.
  • The role also includes drafting jacket, ATI and catalogue copy.
  • You will liaise with authors, Production, Pre-Press and Design teams to ensure books are delivered on time.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • A commitment and desire to work with authors to create the very best books
  • Previous industry experience at an Assistant Editor level or above.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, time management and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • You should be able to demonstrate editorial sensitivity and flair, as well as an eye for detail.
  • You will have a passion for non-fiction.
