The Team

Are you looking to launch a creative career in entertainment marketing? This exciting 3-month placement within our Marketing department offers a supportive, hands-on introduction to digital entertainment marketing.

Our department provides strategic marketing, digital, and social media support across Avalon’s Talent Management, Live, TV Production, and Distribution divisions. Throughout this placement, you will be fully supported by our Digital Content Producer and wider team. You will have the unique opportunity to learn how we work with some of the most notable comedy and entertainment brands in the UK. This includes the award-winning podcast Shagged.Married.Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsey, and global comedy stars like Russell Howard, Rose Matafeo, Ed Gamble, Greg Davies, Ania Magliano, and Iain Stirling.

This internship provides a perfect springboard, giving you lots of hands-on experience, discovering how content creation and campaigns work in the real world.

What you will learn and do

  • Campaign Insight: Gain a key understanding of how a creative marketing department builds digital campaigns from the initial idea to the final post.
  • Content Creation: Develop your skills by learning how to create engaging video and graphic assets for Avalon’s social accounts, including compilations and promotional clips.
  • Asset Optimization: Learn how to resize, format, and subtitle approved archive content and stand-up specials for multiple digital platforms.
  • Production Shadowing: Work alongside the Creative team during video shoots with talent, including opportunities to see how we capture live content at evening comedy gigs.
  • Trend Analysis: Learn how to spot emerging social media trends and brainstorm collaborative ways to apply them to our clients' channels.
  • Content Planning: Gain experience in scheduling and productivity management to see how social media calendars are run.
  • Data Foundations: Learn how to track social media video performance using spreadsheets, translating analytics into simple, understandable summary points.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend creative brainstorming sessions to practice pitching your own original video ideas in a supportive environment.

About You

We do not expect you to have professional industry experience, but we are looking for:

  • Entertainment Passion: A genuine love for comedy, the arts, and live entertainment.
  • Social Media Curiosity: A strong interest in social platforms and an awareness of what makes content look good online.
  • Basic Foundations: A basic, foundational interest in filming and editing video (experience with Premiere Pro, Photoshop, or phone editing apps is a great start).
  • Eagerness to Learn: A desire to grow your skills and learn how to use professional cameras (like the Sony FX6) and editing software.
  • Creative Mindset: An enthusiastic self-starter who is keen to learn, collaborate, and share ideas with a team.
  • Attention to Detail: A good eye for spelling and grammar, which will help you when learning to create subtitles and captions without typos.
  • Flexibility: An open attitude and willingness to occasionally join the team at evening live shows to see content capture in action.
