Looking to break into the creative industries? Whether you're interested in gaming, music, design, film, fashion, technology or something else, there are more ways into creative careers than ever before.

Join us at Gateshead College this October for a sessions of connections and career advice from creative professionals working across the local industry. The event is part of support from Discover Creative Careers, which is bringing together young people, educators and industry across the UK to open doors, build connections and create new pathways into the creative industries. Discover Creative Careers is funded by UK Government and delivered by Creative Access, Creative UK and Futures For All.

Organised in partnership with Edge Innovation as part of Design in Everything, the event is a chance to:

• Meet creative professionals and hear about their career journeys
• Get practical tips on accessing opportunities and getting into the industry
• Connect with the Creative Access team and other aspiring creatives
• Discover different routes into creative careers

This session will be a relaxed and informal opportunity to connect with creative professionals and employers. Refreshments will also be provided.

Five designers from very different corners of the industry share honest stories about how their careers took shape, including getting started, changing direction and learning from what didn't go to plan. Speakers cover branding, games art and character design, bespoke furniture and joinery, product design at Unity, and user research at the NHS. The talks are followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A. It's free to attend as part of Design in Everything week, but you'll need to book a place.
