Are you passionate about book publishing and eager to start your editorial career in a creative environment? Do you have a passion for lifestyle subjects and thrive in a dynamic and energetic setting?

DK LIFE specialises in books about all things lifestyle: from gardening and food & drink, to health, self-help & wellbeing, and home & handicrafts . Our programme – published in the UK and around the world – is the home of a wonderful family of authors including Rachel Barr, Mary Berry, Daisy Buchanan, Jamie Butterworth, Monty Don, Julius Fiedler, Dominic Franks, Caroline Idiens, Asma Khan, Christina Kynigos, Rhiannon Lambert, Katie Piper, and Pollyanna Wilkinson. It's an exciting time to join our growing division, as we expand our colour and narrative non-fiction lists with brilliant books that help readers live their best lives.

We’re seeking someone who is enterprising, enthusiastic, and determined to make an impact in this busy administrative and editorial support role. You will have a keen eye for detail, be adept at juggling multiple tasks and deadlines, be skilled at problem-solving, and work quickly, efficiently, and accurately. You will also be proactive, agile, and able to manage your own workload.

Although this role is admin-based, you will have the opportunity to contribute to new ideas meetings, and the development of acquisitions. Working from the office a minimum of 3 days a week, you’ll get the chance to learn from and collaborate with colleagues in every department and discipline. If successful, you will join a team that supports your on-the-job learning, development, and wider training needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into the world of lifestyle publishing and make a meaningful impact in books that will be enjoyed by readers around the world for years to come.

  • Assisting with the management and delivery of frontlist, backlist, and prospective titles
  • Proofreading and copyediting
  • Researching opportunities and preparing pitches
  • Liaising with authors, agents, and colleagues worldwide

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Detail-focused, methodical, and highly organised
  • Calm under pressure and able to multitask
  • A confident communicator, whether on the phone, on screen, via email, or in person
  • A team player who asks the right questions and is eager to get involved
  • Keen to engage with established systems, workflows, and processes – and improve them wherever possible
