At Hachette Learning (formerly Hodder Education), there’s one thing we’re certain about. No two students learn the same way. Aligned with our parent company, Hachette Livre, founded in 1826, we’re proud to deliver high-quality learning solutions on a global scale. We make it easier for everyone to unlock a new world of learning.
Hachette Learning is a division of Hachette, one of the largest publishing groups in the UK, with 10 publishing divisions and over 60 imprints. Everyone here is proud to be in the business of opening doors and minds.
What you'll be doing
- You’ll be responsible for developing strong relationships with secondary schools and further education colleges across your territory.
- You will visit schools, meet with teachers and leaders, and introduce them to our curriculum resources, assessment products and professional development materials.
- You’ll help schools understand how our solutions can support teaching, learning and progress, and you’ll provide demonstrations and guidance where needed.
- You’ll plan and manage your own diary, making sure you are meeting the right people at the right time and keeping a clear record of activity in the CRM system.
- You will build a healthy pipeline of opportunities, follow up with schools promptly and work closely with colleagues in marketing, customer services and product teams to give customers a smooth and supportive experience.
- A key part of the role involves staying up to date with our products so that you can speak confidently about new releases, digital tools and assessment features.
- You’ll also represent the company at events, support pilot schools when needed and share market insight to help shape future plans. Your focus throughout will be on supporting educators, growing relationships and contributing to the overall success of the region.
This role is home based in the Southwest of England.
Who we are looking for
- We’re looking for someone who can build strong, professional relationships with schools and colleges and who feels confident speaking with teachers, department leads and senior leaders.
- You’ll need to be comfortable managing your own workload, planning your time effectively and keeping on top of follow‑ups and reporting.
- We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning about new products and can talk clearly about curriculum resources, digital tools and assessment. You don’t need to be an expert on day one, but you do need the curiosity and willingness to develop a solid understanding of how our materials support teaching and learning.
- You should be someone who communicates well, can present confidently to groups and can listen closely to what schools need.
- Being organised, reliable and proactive will make a big difference in this role, as will a positive and professional approach when working with colleagues across the business.
- Most of all, we’re looking for a person who cares about helping teachers and learners, and who wants to contribute to the success of our schools, our region and our wider team.
