Help deliver Faber's programme of literary events while maintaining the website for its members community.
Faber is a leading independent literary publisher, committed to the world’s most dynamic and significant voices. The current list spans Nobel laureates, bestselling fiction, award-winning non-fiction, poetry, film, classical music and drama. We publish a diverse range of contemporary authors such as Anna Burns, Kazuo Ishiguro, Claire Keegan, and Katherine Rundell and have an unrivalled archival backlist featuring T. S. Eliot, William Golding, Seamus Heaney and Sylvia Plath. Faber is also a supplier of sales and distribution services to independent publishers and has a market-leading creative writing school.
Based in Faber’s London home, The Bindery, the Faber Members and Direct to Consumer programme offers an inspiring, varied and inclusive calendar of approximately forty events per year, as well as books and subscriptions for Faber’s dedicated and global community of readers and arts lovers.
We are looking to recruit an Events and Website Assistant to support in all aspects of the Members events programme and website administration.
What you will be doing…
Working alongside the Head of Faber Members and the Communications Director on the programme, you will help support the delivery and smooth running of every aspect of the in-person and online events programme, and all associated administration from room booking, writing copy, coordinating author schedules to book orders. You will be expected to help with running the event on the night from checking in guests, room set up and take down.
In addition, the role will involve website support - uploading content and new products to the site, answering customer queries regarding website issues or subscriptions and organising mailings from the building.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in a customer facing role at the heart of our Members programme as well supporting on our website.
Who we’re looking for…
- Reporting to the Head of Faber Members, the ideal candidate will have some administrative experience and be able to demonstrate interest and knowledge of both events and digital communications.
