
Freelance growth and publishing coordinator

Day rate: £160 per day
Shifts: Monday - Friday late shifts (12:30 - 21:00) & weekends (10:00 - 18:30)
Availability: Must be available to work at least 3 shifts per week
Location: Remote, UK-based
This is a hands-on role for someone who’s confident managing social channels day-to-day.

We’re looking for two Freelance Growth and Publishing Coordinators to support our daily output across platforms and help us deliver timely, relevant and impactful content to our global audience. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our content is published efficiently and performs to its full potential. From scheduling and optimising posts to contributing to content planning and experimenting with new formats, you’ll help drive publishing operations, optimise video performance, and collaborate with content, creative, and insights teams.
Key responsibilities
- Support the daily scheduling and publishing of content across PinkNews’ social channels (specifically Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
- Repurpose content from platforms like Snapchat and TikTok for Instagram and other social channels
- Create engaging, high-performing Instagram graphics and carousel posts using Canva or Photoshop
- Monitor analytics and platform insights to inform publishing decisions and content optimisation
- Contribute to monthly performance reports with data-led insights and recommendations
- Pitch trending stories or opportunities that align with the PinkNews brand and values
- Support video edits in Adobe Premiere Pro (especially for social cutdowns or quick turnarounds)
- Keep up to date with platform updates, creator trends, and best practices across social
- Contribute to and support on posting strategy tests
What we’re looking for in a candidate
- 1–2+ years of experience in social media publishing, video content, or digital marketing
- Good understanding of how to grow and engage audiences on social platforms
- Strong attention to detail and experience working in publishing high volumes of social content
- Basic-to-intermediate editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Experience creating or briefing social thumbnails (Canva, Photoshop or similar)
- Confidence using analytics tools (e.g. meta business suite, Sprout social, or native insights tools)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Passion for pop culture, entertainment, LGBTQ+ storytelling and familiarity with queer and Gen Z online culture
- Available to work late and weekend shifts
Performance expectations of the role
- Consistently publish content that aligns with PinkNews’s tone, brand, and platform-specific best practices
- Help deliver growth in key metrics across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok (views, watch time, subscribers, engagement)
- Use performance insights to make informed decisions and adapt publishing strategies
- Meet content publishing deadlines and maintain a consistent output across platforms
- Contribute creative, timely ideas for content and respond quickly to trending moments
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to keep projects moving smoothly
