Salary: £43,200 - £64,800 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Location: Pacific Quay, Glasgow. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.
Contract type: 12 months Fixed term, 0.8 FTE

BBC Studios is the biggest independent producer in the UK, and its Specialist Factual Productions unit is the home of high quality, thought-provoking, and award-winning factual television. It’s an exciting time to join Specialist Factual Productions – who are producing and have recently delivered world-class content for the BBC, National Geographic, Disney+, Sky Documentaries, PBS, Channel 4, A+E History, and CNN.
The unit is now looking for a Graphic Producer to join the development team at BBC Studios Specialist Factual Productions.
The successful candidate will a deep understanding of BBC Studios’ editorial values and will also have demonstrable experience designing decks for development pitches to a very high standard. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional conceptualisation skills, technical skills, and a collaborative spirit.
The successful candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in graphic design inside the development process for the television industry. Skills in on-screen title design and competence in AI assisted graphic design are essential.
This is a senior role and requires the successful candidate to have experience of working to tight development targets, be able to deliver at pace and adapt to changing deadlines. Reporting into the Head of Development, the role will be based in our BBC Studio offices in Glasgow. The job is 4 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the creative deliveries of development decks to a high standard.
- Delivering support for our development deliverables – including title and graphic design for development sizzles and taster tapes.
- Designing for not just selling decks, but also internal documents and materials.
- Working amongst a busy team of development staff of all levels.
- To have an understanding of the TV industry and to design to the style and tone of clients from the BBC to Netflix and global brands.
- Be accountable for the quality of your work and ensure it meets intended purposes.
- To ensure content reflects our diverse audiences.
- Accountable for the delivery of content, acting within BBC Editorial, Legal and Health & Safety guidelines.
- To keep up to date with emerging industry trends.
- Develop and manage positive working relationships with team members and colleagues and be able to give guidance, support and constructive feedback.
- Be responsible for creating a positive working environment for colleagues from a diversity of backgrounds and experiences.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Provable experience in designing decks for development pitches to a high standard.
- Skills in on-screen title design and competence in AI-assisted graphic design, like Midjourney, is essential.
- Experience in working to tight development targets, delivering at pace and to changing deadlines.
- A passion for and a great understanding of the area in which the role operates.
- Evidence of an extensive portfolio of consistently great work demonstrating creative flair.
- Provable experience in design software like Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
- Proven experience of taking ideas from concept to finished product whilst driving forward creativity.
- Follow the latest design trends and technology developments.
- Knowledge of the key UK, US and global TV market and buyers, their needs and expectations.
- A knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and other compliance policies is preferable.
- An understanding of the importance of the BBC's values in accuracy and impartiality is also preferable.
