In-house designer (maternity cover)

Intellect is currently seeking an In House Designer to join our team on a maternity cover basis. You will be on a fixed term contract and the duration could be up to 12 months starting from 1st March 2025 until 1st March 2026.
Responsibilities
Book design
- Design a range of book covers for each season (approx 30 a season)
- Prepare covers for print
- Good working relationship with authors and editors to achieve successful cover
- Working with limited budgets
- Typesetting of a few books a year
- Amending and designing new internal layouts for books
- Journal cover design
Support Marketing team
- Editing videos for social media, including the timely delivery of each 'In Conversation' podcast episode
- Create and design banners, posters and adverts for print and electronically
- Create the annual books and journals catalogues
- Magazine design
Support Marketing Manager
- Conferences: producing marketing materials for our exhibits program
- Support the Marketing Manager as required
Knowledge, skills and experience
- You will have a proactive attitude, with good time management, ability to work independently with good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- We are looking for someone with a good knowledge of design principles, working within the marketing team.
- You should have a good knowledge of sending designs to print and working with printers.
- You should also have an understanding of house styles and following brand guidelines and a good knowledge of Adobe Suite.
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hrs pw. This position will be based in our office in Bristol, with flexible working available.
