We are seeking an energetic, strategic and results-driven individual to join LSA as industry progression manager.
We're looking for someone who can effectively communicate LSA’s ambitious and exciting goals to current and future partners within the creative industries.
This dynamic and fast-paced role calls for an individual who can build strong relationships within the creative industries to create mentoring and work experience opportunities for the Year 13 cohort, to supplement their vocational training and ensure they graduate from LSA sufficiently prepared to achieve their career goals. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of the education and training opportunities available to LSA graduates, including higher education, further education, and apprenticeships.
Responsibilities
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with industry professionals and organisations to facilitate student progression into the creative industries
- Manage the LSA Work Experience Programme to create sufficient industry opportunities, ensuring all students engage in some form of work placement during the two-year (Level 3) course.
- Manage the LSA Mentor Programme, recruiting & training100+ industry professionals from various sectors of the creative industries and pairing them with eligible student mentees.
- Build strong relationships with Higher and Further Education providers, and working closely with Pastoral Dept., create an effective programme that communicates HE and FE opportunities to students (e.g., UCAS, employability events, etc.).
- Proactively promote the Mentor and Work Experience programmes to LSA students, parents and carers, as well as LSA staff, to maximise participation in both initiatives.
- Record qualitative and quantitative student feedback on the LSA work experience and mentoring programmes and monitor the impact of these programmes on student outcomes
- Oversee the practical and administrative tasks related to managing Mentor and Work Experience programmes for individuals aged 18 and under.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- A keen interest in and solid understanding of the UK creative industries
- Motivated to work with young people, supporting their professional development and helping them achieve their career aspirations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic school environment with high expectations for its students
- Commit to LSA's supportive yet challenging ethos and culture
- Excel when working within the team environment while also being self-motivated and strategic when working independently
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with a keen attention to detail
- Confident and personable both on the phone and in person
- Self-motivated, solutions-oriented team player.
- Experienced in computer applications (GSuite, Canva, AirTable, Substack – further training available if needed).
