World-renowned illustrated publisher Thames & Hudson is looking for an organised, proactive and collaborative international sales coordinator to join our busy international sales team.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys keeping complex operations running smoothly, supporting colleagues across multiple markets, and taking real ownership of processes that help our books reach readers worldwide.

You’ll work closely with sales managers, agents, and internal teams across production, marketing and customer services. If you love problem-solving, communicating clearly, and bringing order to fast-moving workloads — and you have an interest in visual culture and illustrated publishing — we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Supporting international sales

  • Helping to grow sales beyond traditional book markets, including non-book retailers
  • Assisting our German-speaking commission sales rep with orders, bibliographic information and returns
  • Coordinating supply-chain queries for our B2C website and ensuring customer orders are delivered smoothly

Being a trusted team backup

  • Providing cover when team members are away — from handling customer enquiries to managing credit issues and processing orders
  • Managing sample requests and supporting agents with accurate bibliographic details
  • Processing author orders to non-UK addresses
  • Supporting all international sales managers during peak periods, especially for exclusive markets

Sales reporting & communication

  • Preparing monthly sales meeting decks and ensuring information is accurate and easy to follow
  • Helping develop digital communication strategies for our international markets, including messaging and content creation

International marketing & event coordination

  • Planning and coordinating our presence at major book fairs (Frankfurt, London) — from booking stands to organising stock, graphics and passes
  • Maintaining seasonal sales presentations and new-title order forms
  • Coordinating catalogue mailings and maintaining special-interest title lists
  • Creating and updating backlist/genre/subject catalogues across T&H lists
  • Producing targeted email campaigns that highlight key titles and series
  • Uploading assets to our in-house bibliographic databases

Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Experience in a busy administrative role, juggling multiple tasks and priorities, preferably in a book publishing, sales or retail environment
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Confidence working with databases and digital tools, and the use of tools to streamline processes
  • Experience using presentation/design software for marketing and social media
  • Highly organised, attentive to detail and motivated by accuracy
  • A strong communicator who enjoys working with colleagues across departments and cultures
  • A genuine interest in visual arts and the publishing industry
  • Proficiency in additional languages (written and spoken), are a plus
