We have an amazing and rare opportunity to join our Editorial team as a Junior Content Editor, on a 12-14 month fixed term contract, beginning at the start of June. You’ll support the team in delivering ambitious, world-class editorial across all content requirements, with specific focus on jamieoliver.com, recipe projects including Ministry of Food, and database upkeep.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all new content and copy requirements for jamieoliver.com, utilising SEO insights and delivering high-quality content in a timely fashion
  • Assist with creating, populating and managing all editorial content calendars, both online and offline. This includes selecting content for the online homepage and recipe of the day, and helping to research content for features and newsletters 
  • Write regular online features and support with newsletter writing, as required 
  • Upload new recipes to the database, website, and associated digital services, and log all recipe usage
  • Assist the team in asset creation and updates for the Ministry of Food and associated programmes
  • Assist with the ongoing project of editing and updating our back-catalogue of recipes, including getting all online recipes into a step-by-step format, and take responsibility for all associated record-keeping and progress updates
  • Assist with content audits, including our ongoing Cultural Appropriation review, updating recipes and associated content as required, as well as record keeping and progress updates
  • Support the Senior team with the creation of recipe-related content for external partnerships, and internal projects, such as Tesco and Jamie’s TV shows
  • Assist the Content Editor with asset creation for Jamie Oliver Cookery School classes, as required
  • Support the senior team in generating new copy or revising existing copy to brief for all Jamie Oliver licensed partners, ensuring consistency in tone and output across all packaging and related collateral
  • Support the Content Editor with our Cookbook Club project and associated workload and recipe uploads

 

What we're looking for

  • You’ll be an organisational whizz, an excellent communicator and team player. 
  • Flexible, adaptable, positive and proactive, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, you’ll be happy and willing to juggle a changing workload and to respond to the needs of the wider business. 
  • Working within a small, committed team, you’ll be keen to put forward creative ideas and will use your initiative to get stuff done and consider better ways of working. 
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a publishing or media environment would be a major plus, with demonstrative skills in writing and administration. 
  • Experience of adhering to house style and using CMS is essential, as is a genuine interest in food.
  • Strong writing skills, with a brilliant grasp of grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Great communication and IT skills (InDesign experience preferable).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, and to work proactively.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to put forward creative ideas.
