Junior video producer
Work with talented young musicians to capture their stories, performances and experiences through film, interviews and social-first video content.
The National Youth Orchestra is the UK’s leading organisation championing orchestral music as a powerful agent for teenage development. We are a welcoming community where every teenager can play their part in shaping their world through extraordinary music.
Help teenage musicians inspire their generation. We are looking for a talented filmmaker and editor to create engaging video content that helps more teenagers discover orchestral music.
Working with young musicians, you'll bring their ideas, voices and shared musical achievements to life. From orchestral performances to musician interviews and social-first video, you'll help capture what makes NYO extraordinary and share it with teenage audiences, supporters and beyond.
The opportunity
This is a hands-on production role, working closely with our Digital Content Producer. You'll lead smaller filming and editing projects, contribute to larger shoots alongside freelance creatives and create fresh content from our archive.
You'll work with teenagers to develop ideas and help them feel confident on camera, supporting them to share music and experiences in their own words. Along the way, you'll have opportunities to build your creative skills, confidence and production experience.
About you
You'll bring confident filming skills, strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere and a good instinct for storytelling and what engages teenage audiences. You'll be organised, collaborative and open to feedback, with ideas of your own and an interest in helping others express theirs.
We want to see examples of what you can create. Your portfolio might include personal, voluntary or professional projects. An interest in orchestral music and an understanding of capturing musical performance would be an advantage.
Working with us
You'll join a supportive, ambitious team united by a belief in young people's potential and the power of orchestral music.
The role includes travel across the UK, periods away on residential activities and some weekend and bank holiday working, supported by our TOIL policy. Benefits include a health cash plan, online GP service, cycle-to-work scheme and counselling and support helpline.
