BBC Studios Entertainment are looking for a Line Producer to join the VT team on Morning Live, who is passionate about programme making, thrives working in a dynamic environment and will inspire their production management teams in thinking of new, commercial and innovative ways of working.

BBC Studios Entertainment are the team behind many award winning series such as The One Show, Morning Live, Dragons’ Den, Top Gear, Antiques Roadshow, Countryfile and Gardeners World. In our unique department we get the opportunity to work on a vast range of content, in a variety of genres, in some of the most exciting locations in UK and around the world delivering the best broadcast content possible.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Producer for the Films team on running the department, forward planning and ensuring the smooth running and delivery of the VTs. Overseeing the Films team staffing and regularly liaising with the broadcaster, agencies, suppliers and freelancers is a key part of the role. We pride ourselves on being a supportive department, working collaboratively alongside each other to make programmes come to life. The Line Producer plays a key role in delivering this support and helping establish a supportive culture. They will be fundamental in nurturing the production and editorial teams, as well as always looking for new talent. You have to be forward thinking and have a positive outlook and most importantly be able to multi-task delivering content for a live daily show. Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple teams at any one time; driving forward progress and ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are clearly communicated.
  • Experience of delivering over 15 specialist films a week and being able to adapt to topical and last minute changes.
  • Strong budgeting and scheduling skills with a sound knowledge of freelance and market rates.
  • Demonstrable experience in the day to day management of production staff, undertaking responsibility for their recruitment, appraisal and training.
  • Excellent working relationships with suppliers in the outside broadcast market and wider industry
  • Knowledge of the Manchester television production industry, suppliers, freelancers and crew.
  • A proven track record of working with talent and agents.
  • Confidence in large budget management over a 12 month period.
  • Driving savings, efficiencies and continually reviewing working practices to ensure best practice and on screen value for money.
  • A sound understanding in health and safety procedures.
  • You will be a problem solver who is comfortable running a large team with a demanding schedule delivering films for live daily output.
