Salary: £31,000 - £38,000 depending on experience

Champion writers and directors in this assistant role for someone with strong organisational skills and a love of film, television, theatre and literature.

Management and production company 42 are seeking an assistant to a Literary Manager/ Managing Partner representing writers and directors.

Excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills required, as is a passionate interest in film, television, theatre and literature.

Prior experience working in a talent management company is essential. There is much scope to grow in the role for the right person.


Main responsibilities

  • Responding to queries for and on behalf of clients, and assisting clients, as required.
  • Full administrative support including diary management where applicable.
  • Booking and arranging travel, transport, and accommodation.
  • Script reading and providing written detailed coverage.
  • Invoicing
  • Answering, handling, and fielding calls to the department, talking with clients and responding on behalf of the manager when required.
  • Contract proofing and term detailing.
  • Full range of office responsibilities including filing, setting up conference calls and appointments, and compiling and reconciling expenses.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Proven experience working as a literary agent or managers assistant.
  • Comfortable working across multiple time zones.
  • Highly organised, with great attention to detail.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • A passion for film, television, literature and theatre is essential.
  • Strong administrative skills and experience in implementing systems.
  • Proficient with Apple Macs, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident phone manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills necessary to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Experience using Tagmin is preferable but not essential.
