Support the Hollyoaks makeup team by preparing actors, maintaining supplies, and helping bring each character’s look to life.
Since producing the now legendary Brookside, Lime Pictures has gone on to deliver some of TV’s most iconic programmes. Our shows cover a wide range of genres from reality to scripted drama. For over 30 years we’ve pioneered new formats, using TV not only for on-screen storytelling but as an off-screen platform to reach younger audiences. Our shows have also won countless awards including the Double Daytime Emmy winning Free Rein for Netflix, Multi award winning Hollyoaks and of course, the BAFTA winning reality series The Only Way is Essex for ITV.
As a Hollyoaks Makeup Intern you will spend the first few months observing and shadowing the Makeup Assistants and Supervisors, both in the makeup room and on set. You will observe how the team operate to complete the makeup calls, what products we use, hygiene practices, script breakdowns & character profiles. The role of the makeup trainee includes keeping track of stock, hair washing, making sure towels are washed and dried, and making sure the cast makeup bags are kept hygienically clean. As your confidence grows we you will be allocated a Make-up Supervisor to follow a shoot through from prep to filming. You will have the chance to do some simple makeups and will be shown how to look after artistes on set, as well as gaining a solid understanding of how the Makeup team fit in as part of a busy shoot crew.

- You will develop a full understanding of how the shoot runs, from prep to filming
- Gain a good understanding of the importance of continuity in TV
- Learn how the Supervisors maintain a continuity file and the importance of this
- Learn how to take care of artistes and understand their specific needs with their hair and makeup
What we are looking for
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge, as well as a passion for hair and makeup is important, as the intern will be expected to carry out simple looks on Artistes during the internship
