ITN holds a unique archive of news content that spans 70 years. As part of the Archive team, you will support the day-to-day management, preservation and delivery of digital news content to ITV News, Channel 4 News, ITN Productions and external clients via Getty Images.
You will help ensure content is accurately catalogued and accessible for editorial and commercial use. This role combines strong attention to detail with an understanding of digital archiving and working in a fast-paced environment where timely access to content is essential.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days in the office. The starting salary is 27k.
What you'll be doing
- Working with our historic archive to identify saleable material for Getty Images.
- Liaising with newsroom researchers to source archive material.
- Using Avid Media Composer to archive news and rushes content.
- Cataloguing picture content (bulletin, legacy, and rushes) by assigning accurate metadata.
- Assigning legal or copyright restrictions which affect reuse and sales.
- Digitising legacy media formats (Beta and DVC Pro).
- Responding to internal and external archive-related requests and queries.

Knowledge, skills and experience
- Strong interest in news, current affairs and history, with good general knowledge of major events from the last 70+ years
- Experience in working with archival collections and cataloguing systems (preferred but not essential)
- Attention to detail, strong grammar and accurate spelling
- Understanding of copyright principles and restrictions related to audiovisual content
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use ITN’s digital asset management and archive systems
