Working pattern: Hybrid - minimum of two days per week in the office; up to three days per week working from home

Step into the heart of publishing operations and help keep the stock and systems behind great books running smoothly.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented operations assistant to support the smooth running of our inventory operations and contribute to wider team tasks. This role is essential in maintaining accurate stock management, supporting Amazon operations, and providing administrative support across the operations team. The ideal candidate will be organised, adaptable, and confident working across multiple systems with various stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the inventory manager with daily stock administration and system updates
  • Work with our distributor and internal teams to resolve issues
  • Raise, monitor, and follow up on stock reserves and allocations
  • Handle ancillary stock requests
  • Respond to internal stock queries and update stakeholders on timelines or stock availability
  • Support with reprint requests and stock replenishment tracking
  • Provide support to the wider operations team as needed, especially during busy periods or staff absences
  • Monitor shared inboxes and ensure timely responses
  • Monitor due releases


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Knowledge of warehouse or logistics processes is desirable, but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level), including data analysis tools, formulas, and pivot tables
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate across multiple teams
  • Previous experience in a publishing or retail operations environment is a plus, but not essential
