Salary: £29,092 (pro rata) per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working. 

Contract: Permanent, working 17.5 hours per week - Job Share. Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility.

Location: The role will be hybrid (office based and working from home) however you will be required to attend and manage in-person meetings regularly in London.

We are looking for a highly proactive and self-motivated Personal Assistant to support our London Area Director. If you're an experienced senior-level administrator able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you. In this role, you'll oversee an often demanding and complex calendar, handling scheduling conflicts and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will also include governance work: organising committee meetings and drafting minutes to a high standard for publication. 

 

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Extensive experience in senior-level administrative roles, with a focus on managing complex diaries and tasks.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise effectively, and make sound judgments in fast-moving situations.
  • Understand the key role that confidentiality plays and the importance of trust in key strategic relationships and partnerships.
  • Experience in governance work, including coordinating and managing committee meetings.
  • A keen eye for detail, especially when drafting and formatting minutes to a publishable standard.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, adapting to different working styles and priorities.
  • Knowledge or experience in the arts, culture, or public sector is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, to manage tasks independently while also working well within a team, and have a proactive, solution-focused approach.
