We are looking for a press assistant who, working as an integral part of the festival PR team, will provide support in the delivery of the multi-tiered publicity campaign for the world-class BFI Flare LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, providing effective day-to-day administrative PR and Flare press office support. BFI Flare is our long-running LGBTQIA+ festival, with a growing audience in London and on BFI Player, and one of the most inclusive film events of the BFI’s annual calendar.
Responsibilities
- Compile regular media coverage on the festival, circulating the coverage to the Festival PR team daily.
- Manage and process Press Accreditation for press delegates and handling delegate queries
- Support in the team where necessary in BFI Flare PR activities, event and projects to include administrative tasks, venue and setup support, information and details to media and delegates
Knowledge, skills & experience
- Demonstrable PR or press experience gained within a cultural organisation either in a paid or voluntary capacity
- Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and to manage and meet deadlines
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and any additional database systems

Additional information
Depending on the volume of applications, you may be asked to complete a small task or attend a pre-interview screening call to further to assist the hiring team in shortlisting for this role. In this instance, interview dates may be subject to change. First interviews will be held on Monday 08 December & Tuesday 09 December. Second interviews will be held on Friday 12 December & Tuesday 15 December.
