Location: The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.

This is a great opportunity for someone to learn the basics of Production within an open-plan and friendly but demanding office environment.

 

What you'll be doing

You will maintain our publishing programme, which means you will:

  • Learn a broad-based knowledge of typesetting and the printing process.
  • Help with our substantial reprint lists and Print on Demand programme by checking specs and costs and raising purchase orders on our Biblio system.
  • Look after e-book corrections for our backlist.
  • Update existing systems and archives.
  • Produce reports, specifically in Excel.
  • Support the team with everyday administrative duties.
  • Represent Production at meetings to track and share information on the progress of projects.
  • Carry out checks on our books to ensure high quality standards are met.

 

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Organised, efficient and dependable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package, especially Excel.
  • A natural communicator – confident in building strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Capable of working in a busy team environment where you are encouraged to work collaboratively.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous about detail and able to complete tasking with thoroughness, accuracy and consistency.
