Location: The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and home working (2 days) per week

What you'll be doing

As part of a dynamic operations department, you will work across our imprints to deliver print and digital products in the fast-paced world of education solutions to our global market, providing the highest quality courseware products.

You will plan and oversee the pre-press and manufacturing process to ensure cost-effective, timely and quality production of new titles and reprints across print and digital formats using a global supply base.

You will be responsible for the production of frontlist and backlist titles under your management, in liaison with design, editorial, picture research, marketing and external suppliers.


Who we are looking for

We are looking for a highly organised, delivery driven production controller who can:

  • Use Biblio 3 (our in-house title management system) to raise estimates and purchase orders
  • Be responsible for and maintain ownership of all production stages of title creation from pre-press to print-monitoring, including the creation and maintenance of schedules, through Biblio 3, in order to achieve target dates
  • Maintain the production systems, including Biblio 3, SAP and DAM
  • Attend meetings to discuss progress of projects, agree budgets, processes and schedules
  • Carry out any necessary administration as part of production processes, including checking and approving invoices
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with colleagues and suppliers
  • Ensure the business quality standards are adhered to, with necessary quality checks being applied on all products at all stages of pre-press and manufacturing
  • Keep aware of the latest technological developments in print, digital and pre-press
  • Work closely with content, production, marketing and digital teams to ensure end to end process for digital products runs smoothly, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
