As a commercial sales apprentice at News Broadcasting, you will be an integral part of our dynamic sales team.

We are News Broadcasting. Driving digital innovation, our people create award-winning national and local radio and podcasts which are must-listens for millions across the UK, Ireland and beyond. Life sounds good with Virgin Radio - home to Chris Evans at Breakfast. talkSPORT, the world’s biggest sports radio station, delivers the very best live sport and analysis and is truly powered by its millions of fans. Times Radio brings together the peerless journalistic expertise of The Times and The Sunday Times with world-class broadcast talent including John Pienaar, Aasmah Mir. Talk is redefining speech broadcasting on digital and audio platforms. We also have market-leading local radio stations across Ireland.

This role is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the sales process within the media industry, from prospecting and client engagement to closing deals and maintaining long-term relationships. Working across industry-leading brands, talkSPORT, Virgin Radio, Times Radio and TalkRadio. 

During your time with us you will earn above living wage, get full training, study towards a Sales Executive Level 4 qualification (with your course fees paid). You will also receive mentoring/coaching from the industry’s best, as well as any other equity you might need to fulfil your full potential.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the commercial sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Support the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
  • Prepare sales presentations, proposals, and contracts.
  • Maintain and update client databases and sales records.
  • Work on campaign delivery with clients and media agencies
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and networking events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
