Join the team behind Green Planet II, a new BBC landmark series, researching plant-animal interactions and coordinating overseas filming.

BBC Studios is a powerhouse of bold British television content, leading the way in creative storytelling, known and celebrated around the world for the quality of its programmes such as Strictly, Top Gear, Green Planet, Eastenders... Launched as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BBC in 2018, merging the commercial and distribution arm BBC Worldwide, BBC Studios works with customers around the world in generating financial returns for licence fee payers. It generates revenues of £1.4bn and returns over £200 million annually to the BBC Group

Green Planet II is a new BBC1 landmark series that will journey into a magical world to experience the lives of plants, turning the spotlight on the extraordinary and complex relationships between plants and animals and the world we live in. The abilities of plants, and the needs of animals, creates a brilliantly-coloured world full of relationships that involve trickery, deception, manipulation and unexpected alliances – on both sides.

We are looking for a researcher with a knowledge of plant animal interactions and in particular experience of setting up, and going on, overseas shoots as we are now in our busiest period of filming.

  • You will have experience of setting up international natural history film shoots and working overseas in challenging environments and you will be expected to travel overseas for extended periods of time.

  • A strong interest in clear written storytelling, ideally with the demonstrated skill of turning scientific ideas and discoveries into accessible and interesting stories for the public.

  • You should have experience working on behaviour-led landmark Natural History series' for a mainstream audience with a track record of finding new, emotionally engaging behavioural stories for television.
