Salary: £28,808 per annum ( this will be pro rata for part times and hourly rate is £13.85)

Hours: Please note that this role has regular rostered weekend work required, rostered and variable weekdays and the working day includes variable shift hours.


We are currently looking for retail assistants to join our Retail team on part-time, permanent and fixed-term contracts.

The Southbank Centre is Europe’s largest arts centre and one of the UK’s top five visitor attractions, occupying an 11-acre site that sits in the midst of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames.

The successful candidates will provide outstanding and consistent customer service to all visitors to the retail outlets and Southbank Centre. Maximising sales opportunities to help drive profit and thereby contributing to the overall success of Southbank Centre.


What you'll be doing

The retail assistants will work on a variety of responsibilities which includes but are not limited to:

  • Engage with customers making them feel welcome, answering their queries, providing relevant product knowledge, and giving advice and suggestions where possible.
  • Processing sales on the EPoS (Till) system, handling credit/debit cards transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure the shop is clean, tidy and well stocked at all times.
