The Job Profile

Simon & Schuster International Sales team is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Administrator to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting to the International Key Account Manager, the Sales Administrator will support the day -to-day running of administrative support to the International Sales team, ensuring the smooth delivery of sales activity across a diverse portfolio of international customers.

The Job Role

The Sales Administrator will provide administrative support and will be responsible for producing, analysing, and distributing accurate sales reports using Microsoft Excel and other systems, as well as efficiently processing customer orders, returns, and quotation requests.

They will also supports the planning and delivery of author events and promotional activity, maintain accurate customer and sales data across multiple systems, and liaises with teams across Customer Services, Finance, Inventory, Marketing, Publicity, and Distribution. In addition, the Sales Administrator will assist with ad hoc reporting, commercial analysis, and project work, while proactively identifying and implementing improvements to processes and workflows.

The Candidate Profile

  • The Sales Administrator will be highly organised and efficient, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines. They will be a confident working with colleagues across all teams, and able to use initiative while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • They will have some experience in administrative, sales support, operations, or customer services, ideally within fast-paced or commercial setting such as publishing.
  • They will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and good IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook). A strong grasp of grammar and communication skills are essential.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop an understanding of publishing and international sales processes, with an interest in sales, operations, or the international book trade.
