Work with a renowned literary publisher, coordinating sales operations, logistics, and international partnerships while honing organisational and analytical skills.

Faber is a leading independent literary publisher. We publish a diverse range of high-profile authors such as Sebastian Barry, Anna Burns, Tsitsi Dangarembga, Akwaeke Emezi, Kazuo Ishiguro, Orhan Pamuk, and Sally Rooney, and we have a backlist containing the works of T. S. Eliot, William Golding, Seamus Heaney, and Sylvia Plath, among many others.

The Sales Operations department is looking to recruit a Sales Operations Lead on a fixed term 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of the busy sales team in support of Faber and the Independent Alliance.

 

Responsibilities

This role involves all aspects of sales operations and distribution, across all publishers represented by the Faber sales dept and across various distribution warehouses. The role holder will liaise closely with the account managers to ensure that all customer distribution and invoicing needs are met. 

Responsibilities will include preparing sales reports for the UK and International sales teams, processing orders, co-ordination of Conferences, Book Fairs and signed stock, liaising closely with 3rd party publishers, monitoring logistics across 3 warehouses and responding to ad hoc queries and requests. T

he person in the role will be the key contact for external communication with Independent Alliance client publishers, international sales partners and our Distribution services team at HarperCollins (credit and customer services).

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

We are looking for a book lover with proven administration skills, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, a good eye for detail and strong numeracy skills. Strong working knowledge of Excel is essential.
