Bloomsbury’s award-winning audio team are looking for a new senior audio editor, passionate about the audio format, to help support the next phase of our growth.

You’ll be responsible for title selection and production for a wide range of titles, primarily across our Head of Zeus list – with opportunity to work more broadly across our programme of publishing. You’ll have an eye for detail; ensuring your titles keep to budget and publish on time, without compromising on quality and creativity.

The Senior Editor will be responsible for leading on the audio productions for our Head of Zeus publishing: creatively casting, managing processes and workflows, selecting appropriate titles for the audio programme, and liaising with agents/authors/in-house colleagues to ensure top-quality productions.

Great at building relationships both internally and externally, you’ll be confident in negotiating with agents, dealing with studios and building a rapport with colleagues across the business, representing audio in cross-department meetings. In incumbent will be required to spend time in both the Bloomsbury and Head of Zeus London offices.

Please note this is not a technical, sound design or studio-based role.

Knowledge, skills and experience

A creative and passionate audio professional, comfortable juggling multiple projects and changing priorities.

You’ll be experienced in audio and/or publishing processes, great at building relationships and have a commercially minded approach to decision-making.

  • An agile, proactive approach, with great prioritisation skills.
  • A strong understanding of the changing audio market.
  • A creative mindset, with a passion for great audio content.
  • Well organised, thorough and able to prioritise tasks and time plan effectively.
  • A proactive approach to communication; ensuring relevant teams across the business are engaged and abreast of our audio publishing at a title level.
  • Strong relationships across the audio industry with voice agents and studio production talent.
  • An ear for casting, and a diverse approach to finding the right voice for every book.
  • A keen understanding of the audio market, and key trends
