Channel 4 is currently transforming its business, and therefore its marketing to be a streaming first service. We are integrating Martech into our exciting show launches and brand campaigns, but also creating standalone view and paid membership driving activations. This role will be key to ongoing success of the digital marketing function within marketing to be broad experts in primarily paid social buying, but also ensuring that other channels such as YouTube, programmatic, and CTV are performing against a range of KPIs, as well ensuring innovation and testing is always happening.
Responsibilities
The Senior Marketing Executive will be a digital planning and strategy expert, responsible for the following:
- Campaign management and optimisation, performance lead across a range of campaign types.
- Social media specific expert, recommending creative, targeting, and format solutions at a micro test and macro change level.
- Media partner relationships, ownership of some of our direct relationships with key digital media partners, including annual planning and target setting.
- Test & Learn lead, responsible for identifying test opportunities on upcoming campaigns (such as control/exposed First-Party Data (1PD) tests or attribution testing or new channel/format proving out). Working with our experiment teams to ensure they are valid.
- Full responsibility of certain standalone digital campaigns or activations.
- Media plan reviews, being the digital expert in the room for broader marketing meetings when discussing campaign activation ideas.
- Actioning and developing our work with econometric (MMM) and Media audit partners to ensure good buying practices across all of our campaigns.
- Martech & Marketing Analytics support, working closely with our Martech lead to ensure we have the right tools to our job.
- Creative technology support - working with 4creative & our wider marketing team to push for more advanced creative solutions such as DCO/AI tooling. Recommending use cases and opportunities to test new creative approaches.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Proven experience in a media agency or in-house role focussed on digital marketing channels for both brand and performance campaigns.
- Strong paid social experience required, knowledge across multiple digital channels preferred. Understanding of role of organic and paid social as one strategy.
- Ability to read and optimise a media plan and media performance report.
- Comfortable with managing KPIs across the marketing funnel and setting up complex campaign test structures with the support of a media agency.
- Analytical mindset, happy with Excel and reporting dashboards to identify trends and opportunities within ad campaign and internal platform data.
- A creative thinker, happy to devise suggestions in changing situations and share opinions on technical matters. Able to adapt around changing priorities and tech.
- A passion for the entertainment and TV industry, awareness of Channel 4’s history and remit.
Hybrid working
From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
