MATA Agency is a boutique independent agency exclusively representing A-list talent across film, music and the creative industries for their commercial activity.
They are experts in music curation with over 20 years of booking talent for private and corporate events.
As a small business, everyone takes a hands-on approach, and your role will cross several areas of the business.
Key responsibilities
Administrative support
- Assist the Director and Senior Agent with admin, research, and calendar management.
- Maintain and update key working documents, including contact lists, budget docs and event trackers.
- Maintain the list of key global conferences focusing on creativity, music/film, future processes and the application of new technologies that would resonate with our key speakers.
Creative & social media
- Design professional decks tailored to agency clients (e.g., music acts, branding opportunities, speaking engagements).
- Manage MATA’s Instagram and LinkedIn, sharing updates, insights, and industry news with the team.
- Monitor industry trends and industry social strategies, suggesting innovative content ideas.
Industry & market research
- Stay updated on client news, partnerships, and cultural trends across Fashion, Sports, Art, Film, Tech and Music from around the world.
- Track gigs and events relevant to MATA’s artists and partners.
Contracts & invoicing
- Learn event contract essentials and assist in drafting agreements.
- Coordinate with artist teams and accountants on invoicing.
Project & event support
- Gather artist availability for event pitches and consulting projects.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met in collaboration with artist management.
Outreach & business development
- Develop and execute outreach plans targeting brand agencies and private event planners.
- Identify emerging talent and business opportunities.
Event representation
- Attend gigs and events as a representative of the company, networking and building industry relationships.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- A degree in a relevant field (Media, Communications, Marketing, Event Management, etc.) or equivalent level of experience.
- Some experience in Media / Music / Film (even if an internship, hobby, or project) with an understanding of project management processes.
- A pro-active approach.
- Proficient in Instagram and LinkedIn, with a strong sense of professional aesthetics.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent writing skills & ability to work with numbers.
- A diverse perspective and knowledge of cultural reference points.
- Passionate about music, film, London culture and the creative industries, with insight and awareness of the latest cultural trends.
- Willingness to attend events and gigs to represent the company.
Desirable
- Experience and capability in one of the following: Powerpoint, Mailchimp, Canva or a similar desktop publishing tool.
- Experience using AI as a reference tool and how best to utilise it in a professional context.
