Our 3-month paid internship will give you hands on experience across Avalon Television’s development and production. Our programming spans reality shows, documentaries, true crime, lifestyle series, drama and comedy-entertainment format

Responsibilities

Development

  • Gain a broad overview of the development process
  • Understand the approach to editorial/tone/style across different genres
  • Contribute to group brainstorms and development meetings
  • Assist with setting up client and broadcaster meetings
  • Monitor upcoming client appearances/industry trends
  • Learn about casting for un-scripted formats and reality TV shows
  • Assist reading/filtering/breaking down unsolicited scripts
  • Writing book reports and script reports
  • Attend client/non-client performances
  • Use social media to find potential on-screen contributors and new talent
  • Undertake background research for new development projects and pitches

Production

  • Shadow on active productions
  • Gain understanding of the key roles within production
  • Attend shoot days
  • Gain experience of the post-production process

Knowledge, skills and experience

What we’re looking for:

  • Keen interest in the development and production of all genres of scripted and unscripted TV, including reality shows, documentaries, true crime, lifestyle series, drama and comedy-entertainment format
  • A confident, enthusiastic self-starter
  • Hard working attitude with a strong attention to detail
