Ready to grow your animation career in a supportive, creative environment? This is your chance to join the team behind award-winning shorts and gain hands-on experience throughout the entire production journey.

Animate Projects Productions Limited (APPL) is an independent animation production company. It is a new sister company to Animate Projects, an organisation that exists to support artists to experiment, collaborate and produce bold animation projects. APPL is currently producing:

  • Re-Mind by Dominica Harrison, a short that mixes digital animation and printing techniques. The production is supported by the BFI, awarding funds from the National Lottery
  • Hand painted animation Daughters of the Late Colonel by award-winning writer-director Elizabeth Hobbs. This production is supported by co-producers Phil Davies Films and Fabian&Fred.

Animate supports artists to experiment, collaborate and produce bold animation projects. Led by Abigail Addison and Gary Thomas, since 2007 they have produced high-quality, innovative, experimental, and engaging films. Their award-winning productions include: The Debutante by Elizabeth Hobbs, which was Oscar shortlisted and won the Animated Short Jury Award at South by South West. And Granny Would Dance by Maryam Mohajer, which won Best of Festival and Best Animation awards at Aesthetica Short Film Festival.

APPL is looking to recruit a trainee who has a passion for artistic animated work, experience with animation production, and is keen to develop a career in production. You will support us with the production and delivery of our films that are in production, plus assist with other development activity. You will be mentored by the producer and be an integral part of the production teams.
