
Trainee programmes coordinator

This six-month internship provides the opportunity to develop the practical skills and insight needed to facilitate performing arts workshops that engage and inspire children.
Fresh Arts is an expert provider of arts education for children of all ages. It is committed to widening participation in the arts. This role is a trainee role for programmes coordinator. By the end of the six months we hope the candidate will have gained the skills and knowledge to operate as a programmes coordinator, facilitating after school clubs as well as carrying out administration support tasks daily.
Funded as part of the ViBrent initiative, this placement will benefit from rotational opportunities among the ViBrent partner organisations. This could include mentorship and/or shadowing, and offers the opportunity to apply new skills in different environments while building a professional network that spans multiple organisations. These occasions can be tailored around the successful applicant to make sure they suit their individual interests and professional goals.
Key activities
- Receive training to be able to deliver facilitation in schools every day, either during the school day or afterschool, and in our building
- Receive training to assist and then lead group performing arts classes
- Events support
- Administration and general office-based tasks that may be required every morning before going to teach, including but not limited to:
- Supporting participants and their families
- Administrative and organisation support for all programmes
- Liaising with schools and parents
- Answering the phones and admin email inbox and dealing with daily queries
What we are looking for
- Passionate and committed to creating world-class arts engagement opportunities for children
- A background and/or training in performing arts - this could be through attending classes, studying at school or any other experiences
- Experience facilitating groups
- Excellent communication skills - a high standard of both written and verbal with the ability to draft clear emails and communications and a strong, polite and friendly telephone manner
- A team player with the ability to work collaboratively, build positive working relationships and provide a friendly service to people
- Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills
- Has an enhanced DBS check or is willing to obtain one as this role involves working with children
